Full-arch dental implants in Perth
Full-arch dental implant treatment replaces a whole upper or lower set of teeth with fixed teeth held on several implants. It’s sometimes called All-on-X. Dr Justina Teo sees people for this at our Leeming clinic, and your first step is a free consultation, including a 3D scan and a treatment plan.

Who it’s for
People often come to see Dr Justina when they:
Are missing most of their teeth, or have been told several teeth can’t be saved
Wear a full or partial denture that moves, rubs or makes eating hard
Still have most of their teeth, but severe gum disease has left them loose or failing
Are tired of fillings, crowns and bridges that keep breaking
Avoid certain foods, photos or social events because of their teeth
Many people who read this page are adult children looking into options for a mum or dad. You’re very welcome to come to the consult together.
What full-arch treatment is
Full-arch treatment uses several implants placed in the jaw to hold a fixed bridge of teeth. The bridge is fixed in place, so you don’t take it out at night like a denture. Only your dental team can remove it.
It’s one option among several. Depending on your gums, bone, bite and general health, a few implants, implant-retained (clip-on) dentures or a conventional denture may suit you better. We can help with dentures too, and talk you through how they compare.
Steps from consult to fixed teeth
Free consultation. Sit down with Dr Justina and talk about what’s bothering you and what you’d like to be able to do again. The consult includes a 3D scan and a treatment plan. She’ll look at the results with you and explain your options in plain words.
Your written plan. You’ll get a written plan and quote to take home. There’s no pressure to decide on the day.
Any first steps. Some people need other treatment first, such as treating gum disease. This can add time.
Treatment day. Teeth that can’t be saved are removed and the implants are placed. Sedation options are discussed at your consult.
Temporary teeth. Many people have temporary fixed teeth while the implants heal. When these are fitted depends on your plan.
Healing. This usually takes a few months. You’ll eat softer foods early on and come in for check-ups.
Your final fixed teeth. Once healing is complete, your final bridge is made and fitted.
Looking after them. Regular reviews, hygiene visits and good home care help look after your implants.
Suitability, timing and results vary from person to person. Your own timeline will be in your written plan.
Is it right for me?
The honest answer is that it depends. Dr Justina looks at:
Your gum health and how much bone you have
Your bite and the teeth you still have
Your general health, medicines and whether you smoke
What you’d like to change, and your budget
Some people aren’t suitable straight away, or a different option fits them better. You’ll find out at the consult, where suitability is assessed. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks, and you may wish to get a second opinion from another appropriately qualified health practitioner before going ahead.
Risks and things to consider
Full-arch implant treatment is surgery. Like any surgery, it carries risks, so it helps to understand them before you decide.
Surgical risks. After surgery you may have swelling, bruising, pain or bleeding. Less often, infection, nerve injury (which can cause tingling or numbness in the lip, chin or tongue) or sinus problems in the upper jaw can occur. Dr Justina will explain the risks that apply to you.
Implant failure. Most implants join with the bone, but some don’t, and an implant can also fail later. A failed implant may need to be removed, and further treatment may be needed. No dentist can promise a particular result.
Healing takes time. The bone needs several months to heal around the implants. During this time you may have temporary teeth, depending on your plan, and may need a softer diet.
Not everyone is suitable. Bone volume, gum health, general health and some medicines can all affect whether implants are an option for you. Your scans and assessment help work this out, and we’ll tell you plainly if another option may suit you better.
Smoking and diabetes. Smoking increases the risk of complications and implant failure. Poorly controlled diabetes can slow healing and also raises the risk. We may ask you to stop smoking, or to work with your GP on your health, before treatment.
Ongoing care. Implant teeth still need daily cleaning. Plaque around implants can cause inflammation and bone loss (peri-implantitis), so you’ll need regular reviews and professional cleaning. Your teeth or their parts may wear, chip or need repair or replacement over time.
Cost and payment options
Fixed full-arch (All-on-X) treatment starts from $28,000 per arch, and implant-retained (snap-in) dentures start from $15,000 per arch. Every mouth is different, so your exact cost depends on your treatment plan. Dr Justina explains your options at your free consultation, and your costs are confirmed in your written treatment plan and quote before you decide. Sedation and anaesthetist fees are separate, and any extractions depend on your plan.
What can affect the cost: how many teeth need removing; whether you need bone grafting; sedation; the type of final teeth in your plan; and whether you treat one arch or both.
Ways people pay for treatment:
Paying in stages. Each stage is paid before it starts. For some plans the cost can be split into stages.
Finance. Finance is available through an external broker, subject to approval.
Super. Some people apply to the ATO for early release of super on compassionate grounds. This is subject to your eligibility and ATO approval. Our team can explain how the process works.
Health funds. Your fund can tell you what you’re covered for, using the item numbers on your quote.

Frequently asked questions
What are full-arch dental implants?
They’re a set of fixed teeth for a whole upper or lower jaw, held on several implants. They’re sometimes called All-on-X. Unlike a denture, you don’t take them out.
Can I get full-arch implants if I still have most of my teeth?
Possibly. If severe gum disease has left many teeth loose or failing, full-arch treatment may be one option. Dr Justina will check which teeth can be kept before talking about any removals.
Can full-arch implants replace my dentures?
For many denture wearers, fixed teeth on implants are an option. It depends on your bone, gums and health. Clip-on dentures are another option. Dr Justina will explain both at your consult. Compare fixed teeth, dentures and implant-retained dentures.
Will I get teeth on the same day?
Not always. Many people have temporary fixed teeth while they heal, but when they’re fitted depends on your plan. Your final teeth come after healing, usually a few months later.
Does full-arch treatment hurt?
Treatment is done with local anaesthetic, and sedation options are discussed at your consult. Some swelling and tenderness afterwards is common. You’ll get clear aftercare instructions, and we’ll check in on you.
How long does full-arch treatment take?
From consult to final teeth usually takes several months. Extra steps, such as treating gum disease first, can add time. Suitability, timing and results vary, and your timeline will be in your written plan.
How much do full-arch implants cost?
Fixed full-arch (All-on-X) treatment starts from $28,000 per arch, and implant-retained (snap-in) dentures start from $15,000 per arch. Your exact cost depends on your treatment plan and is confirmed in your written treatment plan and quote after your free consultation. Sedation and anaesthetist fees are separate, and any extractions depend on your plan. Medicare generally doesn’t cover dental implants. Health fund rebates and finance through an external broker are subject to your eligibility and approval.
What’s included in the free consultation?
New patients with an implant enquiry get a free, no-obligation consultation with Dr Justina. It always includes a 3D scan, an examination and a personalised treatment plan. X-rays are taken where clinically indicated. Any further assessment or treatment is quoted separately.
Does Medicare or my health fund cover full-arch implants?
Medicare generally doesn’t cover dental implants. If you have private extras cover, your fund may pay a rebate towards some parts of treatment, depending on your cover, waiting periods and limits. Your written quote lists item numbers so you can check with your fund before you start.
Can I have implants if I have bone loss?
Often, but it depends on how much bone you have and where it is. Some plans use the bone that’s available, and some people need bone grafting first. Your scans help show this. Not everyone is suitable, and Dr Justina will explain your options after your assessment.
Do I need to stop smoking?
Smoking reduces blood flow to the gums and bone, which raises the risk of infection, slow healing and implant failure. We strongly encourage you to stop before surgery and afterwards. Please tell us if you smoke so we can talk openly about your risks and the support available.
How do I clean fixed implant teeth?
Brush twice a day, paying attention to where the teeth meet the gums, and clean under the bridge with interdental brushes, a water flosser or implant floss. We’ll show you how. You’ll also need regular professional reviews and cleaning.
What happens if an implant fails?
If an implant doesn’t join with the bone, or has problems later, we’ll assess it and explain your options. Usually the implant is removed and the area heals, and a new implant may be placed if suitable. Any extra treatment and its cost will be discussed with you first.
Should I treat one arch or both?
It depends on the health of your remaining teeth. Some people need treatment in only the upper or lower jaw; others need both. Fees are per arch, and your exact cost depends on your treatment plan. Dr Justina will explain whether your natural teeth can be kept.
Fixed teeth or a snap-in denture: what’s the difference?
Fixed full-arch teeth are screwed onto implants and only your dentist removes them. A snap-in (implant-retained) denture clips onto implants for more stability than a conventional denture, but you take it out to clean it. A snap-in denture usually needs fewer implants and costs less.
